Nominations for Port Lincoln Chamber of Commerce's business excellence awards have been encouraged with entries closing by midnight October 16.
More than 40 business nominations have already been received, and this year the chamber of commerce has eight categories including business excellence, community excellence, new in business, customer service, young business person and tourism and hospitality.
Two new categories introduced this year are the innovation and building and trades awards.
Once again the chamber of commerce will be hosting a gala dinner, on Saturday November 9 from 6pm at the Port Lincoln Hotel.
Chamber vice chair Sharni-Marie Barney said they have once again included the popular public voting element.
"We want the Business Excellence Awards to be a prestigious event that celebrates and acknowledges the brilliant work done through local business in Port Lincoln and surrounding districts, and for the gala dinner to include all the glitz and glamour we can deliver," she said.
"Those fortunate enough to be nominated have the chance to reflect on their business operation and services when they respond to the judging panel.
"We have included the popular public voting element, and will provide a media pack for nominees to promote their nomination and raise their profile with customers and community in the process."
