Country Fire Service firefighters controlled a fire that burned through grass and scrub near Edillilie on Tuesday afternoon.
The CFS was informed just before 4.30pm of a fire caused by an escaped burn off on a private property on the Tod Highway, five kilometres south of Edillilie.
Four trucks and 12 CFS personnel attended the fire with crews from Edillilie, Wangary and Wanilla responding.
The fire was declared contained at 5.30pm and was controlled about 7.20pm.
Two hectares of mostly scrub and grass was burnt, as well as some rubbish on the site including old fishing equipment.
