Peressini upstaged his more fancied opponents to win the main race of the day - the benchmark 80 over 1390 metres - at the Port Lincoln races on Wednesday.

A driving finish saw the Gary Searle-trained eight-year-old grab Debeersonus in the final bound at the juicy odds of $14.

Debeersonus continues to race well and really deserves another win.

Bramfield lost no admirers with an encouraging third and she will take great benefit from that outing.

Beau's My Boy put in his best run to date, only beaten by half a length in fourth.

Not much went right for fancied runner Neva Doubt Us and it would pay to forget he went around.

Justica continued on her winning ways defeating Kalamon and the well-backed Wotuwant in the three-year-old race.

The Jackie Stoetzer-trained filly has won three races from three so far this season and a trip to the city may be on the cards.

Kalamon was a massive run after being slowly away and a mile off the lead mid race.

Follow him wherever he lines up next.

Another highlight of the day was the big win of Gottabiton in race three who rewarded his followers, racing away for a four-length win.

This four-year-old looks more mature this preparation and trainer Simon Drewitt will likely step him out over a longer journey now.

John Hickmott was the leading trainer on the day with a winning double after the well-supported Kiroshima broke his maiden status in the opening event and Abbi Fede strolled away with race four.

The veteran trainer has had six runners in Port Lincoln so far this season for three winners, proving he knows the right type of horse to send over.

Visiting Queensland race caller David Fowler called the meeting and it was a pleasure to listen to his dulcet tones throughout the afternoon.

Other winners on the day were Rodney, Reigning In Paris and Social Media.

The next Port Lincoln race meeting will be a twilight meeting on Friday, November 15.
