FINNISH Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas and Australian professional road cyclist Tiffany Cromwell visited Port Lincoln earlier this month to go shark cage diving with Calypso Star Charters.
Calypso Star Charters managing director Andrew Wright said the pair booked the tour and came aboard without any fuss.
He said they were in South Australia for a holiday.
"It's obviously humbling that they choose to come on holiday to do this sort of thing and that they chose us to do it with," Mr Wright said.
"Unfortunately the sharks had been a bit quiet so they didn't get to see any sharks but they have started to pick up since."
Mr Wright said while having sportspeople of Miss Cromwell's and Mr Bottas' caliber on board was exciting, many of the other passengers were unaware.
"It's one of those things I suppose, if you don't follow the sport then you probably won't recognise them but it was certainly good to have them on board," he said.
