Good sized tuna offshore

WEST COAST

Sill some reports of mulloway up to 60lbs, salmon and sharks from the far west beaches.

Offshore from Sceale and Streaky bay, five to 14kg tuna were hitting smaller lures both trolled and cast.

COFFIN BAY

Tuna were still caught inside and outside Sir Isaacs, some weighing 18kg.

Further offshore there were plenty of Bight redfish, big trevally, snapper (all released) and tuna.

Mixed size kingfish, samsons and tuna were at Rocky, Greenly and the Four Hummocks.

In the bay there were reports of garfish, salmon trout, trevally, tommies and couple a flatties.

Some quick bag limits of whiting were caught at Farm Beach when it was breezy.

On calm days they were harder work with some anglers fishing the drift ground for the day to get a feed.

Those who targeted a mixed bag scored trevally, salmon, garfish and squid.

PORT LINCOLN

Whiting catches were reported at Louth, Rabbit, Boston, Grindal and Thistle islands.

Blue crabs are slowly improving with up to a dozen caught a session from Proper, Boston and Louth bays.

Sand crabs were found around the Monument, Spalding Cove and up to Cape Donnington.

Yellowfin whiting were in good numbers hitting surface lures aggressively inside Franklin Harbour and outside on the beaches.

Offshore from Port Lincoln there were tuna, kingfish and samsons caught.

Rat kingfish are still getting caught from the wharf and the marina.

Tuna were seen at the wharf again on the weekend.

PORT NEILL/ARNO BAY

King George whiting are slow for the boaties but beach fishers found schools of yellowfin taking baits and surface lures between Tumby Bay to Cowell.

TUMBY BAY

The Group had whiting averaging 32 to 35cm with the odd under size fish.

Kingfish around 50 to 70cm were swimming up to boats fishing for whiting and were takings baits, lures and small jigs.

The Tumby jetty and marina had small kingfish with the odd school of bigger fish around 90cm.

Yellowfin whiting bit well on prawns and worm from the jetty on the incoming tide.

COWELL

Yellowfin whiting were in good numbers .

They have been hitting surface lures aggressively inside Franklin Harbour and outside on the beaches.
