High range drink driver caught in Port Lincoln

Police have caught a driver for allegedly being more than five times over the legal limit in Port Lincoln on Wednesday night.

At about 11.40pm police stopped a ute travelling on Tasman Terrace and breath tested the driver, who allegedly returned a positive result of 0.222.

The driver, a 30-year-old Malvern man was issued a 12-month instant loss of licence and his car was impounded.

He will appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court at a later date.
