Planning is well under way for this year's Zonta Club of Port Lincoln International Women's Day and Women Of Achievement Awards brunch to be held at the Port Lincoln Hotel on Saturday, March 14.

For over 10 years the brunch has fundraised for many causes, and this year the event will help the Carly Ryan Foundation as well as purchase equipment for use by Port Lincoln's breast care nurse. There will be a raffle and a painting by artist Tim Coote to be auctioned.

Guest speaker Sarah Ryan founded the Carly Ryan Foundation after her 15-year-old daughter was murdered by an online predator in 2007.

Her work has resulted in a new state law regarding child protection, the creation of a national education program as well as continuing political advocacy and support for victims of sexual abuse.
