New boarding house captain Grace Johnson has welcomed Kate Benjamin as the permanent director of boarding at St Joseph's School in Port Lincoln.

Grace, who hails from Wirrula, said experiences with boarding have provided her with a range of opportunities and allowed her to create lasting friendships.

"It's also set me up for living away from home by developing maturity and independence," she said.

After two years in the temporary role of boarding director, Ms Benjamin said she had worked hard to provide students with the care and support they needed while being away from home.

"Our new state of-the-art facility opened at the start of 2017 and has been recognised as one of the best in Australia - we are proud to offer single room accommodation and modern and comfortable breakout spaces for our students, who come to us from all over the Eyre Peninsula, West Coast and inland South Australia," she said.
