Teen charged for assault in Port Lincoln

A local teenager has been arrested following an alleged assault in Port Lincoln Wednesday evening.

At about 7pm police and SA Ambulance were called to Queen Street where a 17-year-old victim was found with a minor cut on his neck and leg.

Police allege a short time earlier the victim and another teenager known to him had an altercation in the front yard of a nearby house, during which the suspect produced a knife and caused the injuries.

The teen was taken to hospital and discharged a short time later following treatment.

Following an investigation police arrested a 17-year-old local boy and charged him with assault causing harm.

He has been bailed to appear in Port Lincoln Youth Court on April 6.
