Hank's Nephew scored an emotional win in his final race in the Flying Handicap at the Port Lincoln races on Sunday.
Transferring to Port Lincoln in 2012 Hank's Nephew won his first race start here and would soon established himself as one of the regions best sprinters for local trainer Shylie Williams.
A consistant performer for many a season the win on Sunday was his sixteenth at Port Lincoln and took him to over $250,000 in prizemoney.
Despite being the rank outsider in betting at $17 and no crowd to cheer him on 'Hank' wound back the clock to charge late to over-run Go The Journey and the honest Debeersonus.
The win was an emotional one for Shylie Williams and stable who have an unconditional love for this ten-year-old.
"I'm absolutly thrilled, Its a dream come true" Williams said.
Willams confirmed this will be the end.
"I wanted him to retire a healthy sound horse and this is the way to go."
The stable had a winning double on the day when Avora Sun returned to form to win race two earlier in the day.
