SA Power Networks will be inspecting power lines across their network in bushfire prone areas, beginning on the Eyre Peninsula.
Between now and the end of October, Helistar Aviation helicopters will be looking for hazards including vegetation growing too close to power lines across the state.
The helicopters started inspections on Monday, May 18 in the Eyre and Upper North regions.
They will be flying low and slow over power lines in Ceduna, Wudinna, Streaky Bay, Cleve, Cummins, and Port Lincoln until the end of July, permitting good weather.
If any hazards are spotted field crews will follow up with essential repairs before the next bushfire season.
