Thanks to our volunteers: RFDS

This week (18-24 May 2020) is National Volunteer Week, an important date on our calendar to stop, reflect and recognise the wonderful contribution all volunteers make to our community and our way of life.

At the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), we refer regularly to our 'workforce'.

This term isn't limited to the nurses, doctors, pilots, engineers, operations coordinators and support staff who together deliver essential health care services around the clock across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Our 'workforce' includes our entire community of volunteers - more than 1000 people of all ages and backgrounds - who help keep the Flying Doctor in the air by supporting our work on the ground across SA and NT.

Their essential work supports us through fundraising, sharing our message at events and community visits, supporting our administration or, in some cases, assisting our team with delivery of frontline services.

Thanks to our volunteers, we've been able to continue responding to Australians in need during these difficult times.
