Lock Lions member Nelly Kirvan is still serving her delicious soup, but to a different group this year.

Ms Kirvan is known in Lock to spend several days of the week making soup to sell through the Lock Lions van at local football matches.

However with local football currently on hold, she has instead been making and supplying her soup to the single elderly in Lock who are isolating for health and safety reasons due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lock Lions president Garry Hodge said while they were unable to serve the community how they normally would, they had adapted to find a new way of reaching out to the locals.

"Lions are flexible and adaptable to whatever need is perceived and we are thankful for the range of talent within our local club to service those needs," he said.

The seniors are having these meals delivered on a regular basis and are enjoying the added extra of an upbeat visitor and a social chat from Ms Kirvan.
