Police have advised Eyre Peninsula motorists to be cautious while driving due to dust as strong north to northeasterly winds blow across the state.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for southern parts of the state, including most of the Eyre Peninsula due to a north to northwesterly airstream ahead of a cold front.
The bureau has forecast north to northwesterly winds averaging 50-65 km/h at times with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h over the warning area, then contracting to the far southeast during the evening.
Locations including Cleve and Port Lincoln have recorded gusts of between 80 to 85km/h.
SA Police has advised Eyre Peninsula motorists to be cautious due to dust storms reducing visibility, especially along the Lincoln Highway between Port Lincoln and Cowell.
Motorists are advised to use their headlights and if conditions become dangerous to pull off the road safely.
