Port Lincoln man caught almost four times over the limit

Police catch high range drink driver

A local man has lost his licence for 12 months and will face court after he was caught almost four times the legal limit in Port Lincoln on Saturday.

Police were called to Liverpool Street just after 2am on July 11 after concerns were raised about a man driving a Holden Commodore.

The car was located in the car park of a local business and police breath tested the driver, who allegedly returned a positive result of 0.198.

The driver, a 33-year-old local man, was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for 12 months.

His car was impounded for 28 days and he will face Port Lincoln Magistrates Court at a later date.
