Firefighters control shed fire in Port Lincoln

Shed fire causes $50,000 damage

A fire has caused $50,000 in damage at a Port Lincoln property on Sunday.

Just before 2.45pm firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire on New West Road.

Three Port Lincoln MFS appliances attended with Lincoln CFS providing assistance with two appliances and a bulk water carrier.

On arrival firefighters found a shed engulfed in flames and got to work to save an adjoining flat.

Crews were able to save the flat and soon had the fire under control.

The shed was destroyed with $50,000 in damage caused, there were no injuries.

While the cause of the fire is not fully determined it is not being treated as suspicious.

Senior MFS firefighter Chris Dare said the crews' professionalism in doing their job led to saving the flat and thanked the CFS for their assistance.
