Port Lincoln Library has welcomed a donation of more than $1000 worth of books from a local car club which is sure to garner interest of local car enthusiasts.
The Lincoln Auto Club has donated 21 books covering a range of motoring topics including classic cars, muscle cars and motorcycles.
Club president Rick Price said this originated at the annual general meeting this year, life member Ross Gogler proposed the club sponsor the library to enable an additional stock of auto-related books and DVDs to be available for club members and the general public to borrow.
"Through liaison with library manager Louise Mrdjen, and research by club secretary Richard Miels, 21 publications were selected and presented to the library," she said.
Mrs Mrdjen said the library was very grateful for the donation of books from the auto club, which would be of interest for anyone with a love of cars.
"It reflects the diverse interests of the Lincoln Auto Club and the selection will benefit our broader community as anyone with an interest in cars can browse the collection," she said.
"We're always happy to take donations and we appreciate the generous support from groups in our community."
