Winning start to 2021 for Charlton | PHOTOS

Charlton maintained its perfect A grade Port Lincoln cricket record with a 42-run triumph against Waybacks at Ravendale Oval on Saturday.

Charlton opened 2021 with 6/212, before restricting the home side to 7/170.

Luke Yancic top-scored with 53 runs and paired with Ryan Cottrell, 33, for a 78-run stand that propelled the table-toppers to their total.

Jack Shanley added 31 runs, while Brayden Frost and Nick Wright reaching 29 - the latter finishing unbeaten.

Marc Eckert and Dylan Vonderwall led the bowling with three wickets apiece.

Waybacks progressed to 41 when Hamish Newman was caught for 27, while fellow opener Janna Daw fell for the same total 18 runs later.

The hosts were led by Nathan Sincock who was steady in reaching a half-century.

Liam Dennis added 24 runs, however Waybacks could not get close to the total and Sincock was the final player dismissed after reaching 58.

Shanley claimed 2/17 for Charlton.

Meanwhile, Tasman picked up another victory with a 91-run success against Tod River.

Tasman posted 9/191 in the match at Dorward Oval before the Tod River run chase ended at 100.

James Stockham was pivotal for Tasman with 50 runs, helping the visitors overcome a sluggish start that saw George Wilks out for five and Mitchell Jude caught for six.

Jaiden Jude added 29 runs, while Luke Strudwick was the last player dismissed after making 25.

Craig Dorward was the pick of the bowlers with 3/15.

Tod River lost opener Zac Crabb for only one run, but Wilson McShane's 22 runs and 18 from Nick O'Leary got the hosts back on track.

There was little support from elsewhere, with Max Coote the only other player to reach double figures on 12 runs.

Tasman bowled well to restrict Tod River, as a devastating Mitchell Jude picked up 4/5 and two maidens from 4.2 overs.

Elsewhere, Southern Eyre romped to a win by eight wickets against Lincoln South at Centenary Oval.

Lincoln South were all out for only 86 runs, with Southern Eyre cruising to 2/87 in response.

A poor batting display saw Garrin Metcalfe the top scorer for Lincoln South with 20 runs, with Scott Sweeney adding 15 and Waylon Miller 10 runs.

They struggled to 5/39 and later lost the last four wickets for 12 runs.

Ryan Siebert, Troy Dunn, Roger Puckridge and Dustin Parker all grabbed two wickets for Southern Eyre.

Hamish Rowsell carried the bat as Southern Eyre completed the run chase in 16 overs.

Rowsell finished 43 not out and Aaron Siebert added 22 runs.

Steven Benbolt and Metcalfe took the Lincoln South wickets.
