Motorcycle and car collision in Port Lincoln

A motorcyclist has avoided life threatening injury after colliding with a vehicle in Port Lincoln on Tuesday afternoon.

At about 5.40pm emergency services responded to report of a collision between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Liverpool Street and Adelaide Place.

Two Port Lincoln MFS appliances attended the scene along with police and SA Ambulance.

Police say the motorcycle was on the roundabout at the intersection when it was hit from the side by the vehicle.

The rider, a 27-year-old Port Lincoln man suffered a suspected broken leg and was transported to Port Lincoln Hospital, but did not have any life threatening injuries.

The driver, a 53-year-old Port Lincoln woman was uninjured and received an on-the-spot fine for failing to give way.

The roundabout exit to Adelaide Place leading towards the foreshore was closed for a short time but reopened at about 6pm.
