Eyre Writers will host events by award-winning New York Times best selling fantasy and science fiction author Sean Williams as part of the literary portion of next month's SALT Festival.

Born in Whyalla, Mr Williams is the author of 50 book for readers of all ages, including six novels set in the Star Wars universe, including 'The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance' and 'The Force Unleashed II'.

His fantasy novels, such as 'The Stone Mage and the Sea', 'The Crooked Letter' and 'The Changling', were inspired by the landscapes of his childhood and occupy a unique niche in Australian publishing.

Mr Williams is a multiple-time recipient of the Aurealis and Ditmar awards, as well as the SA Great Literature Award and the Peter McNamara Award for contributions to Australian speculative fiction.

For his part in the SALT Festival, Mr Williams will present an author talk on April 17 and 18, conduct an afternoon workshop for writers, and participate in an author discussion panel at Cummins Library.

His Generating Ideas Workshop is suitable for writers of all ages and all stages of development.

Mr Williams will be joined for the panel discussion by local authors Aileen Pluker and Vanessa Tritschler, both of whom will be launching new books at SALT.

Tickets for Mr Williams' and other Eyre Writer events can be purchased from saltfestival.com.au.
