Port Lincoln Times Flashback Friday: 1981 | GALLERY

The Port Lincoln Times Flashback Friday is back to provide you with a look back at the faces that made the news in years gone by.

This week we are going back nearly 40 years to feature photos that appeared in the Port Lincoln Times throughout May, 1981.

Can you recognise anyone in this week's gallery?

Australian cricket fans would know 1981 as the year of the 'underarm incident' where Trevor Chappell bowled underarm in the final delivery against New Zealand at the MCG on February 1, leading to the ban of underarm deliveries in cricket.

Some of the big songs released in 1981 included 'Counting the Beat' by The Swingers, 'Antmusic' by Adam and the Ants, 'Nine to Five (Morning Train)' by Sheena Easton and 'Jessie's Girl' by Rick Springfield.
