Can you spot yourself? Port Lincoln Flashback Friday: 2006 | GALLERY

The weekend is upon us and that means it is time for another look back to the past with the Port Lincoln Times Flashback Friday gallery.

This week we go back nearly 15 years to June, 2006 to feature photos that appeared in the pages of the Port Lincoln Times.

Among the photos that appeared includes some faces happy to see the first weekend of sport played at the Ravendale Sporting Complex as well as the now well known Makybe Diva statue on the Port Lincoln foreshore, which at this point was taking shape in Ken Martin's workshop.

Kevin Rudd would become leader of the opposition, the following year he would defeat John Howard to become Australian Prime Minister, meanwhile Mike Rann was re-elected South Australian Premier.

Gamers enjoyed the release of the Xbox 360 while winter sport fans cheered as Dale Begg-Smith won gold for Australia at the 2006 Winter Olympics at Turin.
