Man to face court following incident with CFS at Lock

Man charged with environmental nuisance at Lock

A man will face court on charges including causing an environmental nuisance and disorderly behaviour after a fire caused extensive smoke drift through Lock last week.

At 11.45am on April 20 local CFS officers were called to a property on Dearman Street in Lock following reports of a green waste fire.

CFS crews found the fire on a private property with the owner refusing entry to extinguish the fire.

Police say while CFS firefighters were extinguishing the fire from the roadway, the male caused damage to a hose sprayer on the front of the CFS truck, making it inoperable.

Police later attended and arrested the man, who was charged with causing an environmental nuisance, disorderly behaviour, hindering a member of an emergency services organisation and property damage.

The man was granted bail to appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court at a later date.
