It is Flashback Friday time as we provide some more photos that featured in past editions of the Port Lincoln Times.

We are going to the end of the 1980s to feature images from throughout June, 1989.

In South Australia John Bannon was re-elected as Premier, narrowly defeating opposition leader John Olsen, who would eventually become premier in 1996.


Australian television viewers saw the end of Young Talent Time while it was also the year Fast Foward, Acropolis Now and The Big Gig premiered, adding some Australian comedy to our screens.

In cricket Australia regained The Ashes 4-0 in England. The team led by Allan Border was also made up of superstars including Mark Taylor, David Boon, Ian Healy and Steve Waugh.
