A Port Lincoln woman had a major surprise, learning her $25 win was actually a nearly $1 million win from Saturday's X Lotto draw.
The woman, aged in her 50s, had one of six division one winning entries across Australia in the lotto draw, winning a total prize of $974,297.53.
When an official from The Lott made contact with her Monday morning to confirm her division one win, the woman was certain she had only won a division four $25 prize.
After some explanation the woman let out exclamations of surprise, including "Are you for real?", "I just can't believe it" and "I'm bewildered".
When asked on what she would do with her winnings, the woman said "I'll be able to give up work and help my family."
The winning ticket was bought at newsXpress Beer's Port Lincoln and owner Joy Whennen said she was happy to hear of a local resident winning big.
She said in the past 37 years there had been some other major winners, including a $4.2 million winner in 2018 and a $1.2 million a couple years before that.
"I'm pleased that our business had a winning entry, I'm happy for the people this has happened to in Port Lincoln and I'm happy for the people of South Australia," she said.
