Thevenard recorded a first win of the Western Eyre A grade netball season on Saturday and did so in the most dramatic fashion.

The Magpies are on the board for 2021 after defeating Western United at Penong by a single goal.

Thevenard's 37-36 win gets them going after first-up losses to new clubs West Coast and Wirrulla.

Meanwhile, the Hawks were very impressive as they cruised past Koonibba by 45 goals at Piednippie.

West Coast's third successive win came courtesy of a 73-28 result, with the Roosters still searching for their first points of the season.

Joining the Hawks at the summit are Wirrulla, who got the better of Ceduna Blues United by 23 goals at Wirrulla.

The Bombers produced the goods to remain unbeaten, handing the Blues their second successive lose with a 61-38 result.

In the B grade, there was not much in it again as Western United got the better of Thevenard by five goals.

Westies' 32-27 victory condemned the Magpies to a third consecutive loss to start 2021.

Meanwhile, there were no such issues for West Coast as they moved up to six points from a possible six with a win against Koonibba.

The Hawks triumphed by 44 goals in a 59-15 victory.

Elsewhere, Ceduna Blues United bounced back to get the better of Wirrulla by 10 goals.

Having fallen to the Hawks a week earlier, the Blues were victorious with a 58-48 result that ended Wirrulla's winning start to the season.

The C grade contest between Western United and Thevenard went the way of the Tigers by 33 goals.

The 63-30 win propelled Westies to first position and was a first loss of the campaign for the Magpies.

The other match saw Ceduna Blues United cruise past Wirrulla for a first win of the season.

It ended 71-18, as the Bombers suffered a third straight loss.

A thrilling D grade clash between Western United 1 and Thevenard ended in a 33-33 draw, while Ceduna Blues United got the better of Wirrulla 26-16, and West Coast defeated Koonibba via a forfeit.
