Wayback Football Club has given back to the Port Lincoln RSL Sub Branch following an auction of its guernseys from the Anzac Day match on April 25.

The A grade team played with special guernseys in their round one game against Tasman at Centenary Oval on Anzac Day, which they won by 11 points.

Following the games Wayback held a guernsey auction at its clubrooms, with more than $15,000 raised.

Of special mention was the guernsey worn by Anzac Medal winner Sam Heinjus, bought by Duncan and Brooke Moore from Moore Design and Construct for $4500.

With this and a little more the club donated $5000 to the Port Lincoln RSL.

Club president Tracy Baldwin said this was a good opportunity to give back to a local organisation and the event was well supported by the club.

Port Lincoln RSL president Peter Linn said it was great to see a local sporting club give to the RSL.

Wayback has thanked Emma Forster from Calypso Star Charters and Frank Garvey from Garvey Crash Repairs for donating the guernseys.
