What time is it? It's Flashback Friday time as we once again go back in time to look at the images that made the news in years gone by.

This week we are going back 50 years to see who featured in the pages of the Port Lincoln Times throughout May, 1971.

Can you recognise anyone in this week's gallery? A family member? A family friend?

In 1971 William McMahon became Australia's new Prime Minister after the resignation of John Gorton while Neville Bonner became the first Indigenous Australian to become a Member of Parliament in Australia.

MORE FLASHBACKS:

By the end of the year Australia would announce the withdrawl of troops from Vietnam.

In football Hawthorn's Peter Hudson equalled Bob Pratt's 1934 record of 150 goals in one season and Hawthorn would go on to be that year's premiers, it's second overall.
