Police remind Port Lincoln community to lock vehicles following recent thefts

SA Police have urged the Port Lincoln community to be vigilant in locking their cars after a number of recent thefts from vehicles.

Between the evening of Sunday June 6 and the morning of June 7 police received reports of two thefts from cars parked in Hindmarsh and Swann Street.

There were no signs of forced entry leading police to believe the cars were left unlocked overnight.

The stolen property includes a black Cannon Rebel camera, another Cannon camera, a DJI Maveric drone, a GoPro Hero4, a Kathmandu puffer jacket and an engagement ring.

SAPOL are encouraging the community to report any suspicious behavior regardless of the time of day or night, by calling police assistance on 131 444.

If you know the whereabouts of the stolen property call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at crimestopperssa.com.au.

Police also recommend hiding valuables from sight or removing them from the vehicle all together, closing windows and locking doors, parking in a well-lit area or in a garage at night if possible.

They also strongly advise against hiding a second set of keys in the car, as if broken into and found, theives may take the car as well.
