After being postponed due to the statewide lockdown, the Port Lincoln City Band's FAME (Film and Music Entertainment) Awards are set to cautiously go ahead next Friday at the Nautilus Theatre.

Originally set for July 23, the event was postponed following the announcement of restrictions, and the statewide lockdown in response to the COVID-19 outbreak from Modbury Hospital.

However the event will now take place on September 3, still with the theme of 'The Greatest Showman/Vintage Circus' and still a sell out.

Port Lincoln City Band president Valerie Staunton said there was excitement about the event going ahead, but also caution knowing the situation could always change.

"We're definitely excited and are working towards having an awesome night," she said.

"We're really happy everyone who bought tickets can still come on the new day and we're keeping our fingers crossed and hope everyone keeps to social distancing."

Awards will be presented for all video entries and people attending on the night are encouraged to dress in the theme of 'vintage circus' for the red carpet with the an award to be presented for best dressed.
