Cowell man arrested after break-in

A man has been arrested following a break-in at Cowell over the weekend.

Police will allege that the man forced open the door to a house on Lincoln Highway between 12.30am and 12.50am on Sunday before causing considerable damage to items inside.

The suspect was disturbed by a neighbour and fled prior to patrols arriving.

Investigations led to the arrest of a 36-year-old Cowell man on Monday.

He has been charged with serious criminal trespass and property damage, and has been bailed to appear in the Whyalla Magistrates Court in October.

Anybody who witnessed this incident, which is not believed to be a random attack, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
