Police are investigating the theft of an allegedly unlocked vehicle from a Port Lincoln address early Wednesday morning.
At about 2.30am on September 15 a white 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe, SA registration S467BWE, was stolen on Whillas Street. Police say the car was allegedly left unlocked with the keys inside.
Anyone with information on the theft is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au, you can remain anonymous.
Police have warned car owners of the risk of leaving vehicles insecure, as they are "easy pickings" for opportunistic thieves.
Common items stolen from unlocked vehicles include personal documents such as identification and credit cards, cash, mobile phones, sunglasses, roller door remote controllers and tools.
Vehicle owners are encouraged to always ensure valuables are removed, the vehicle is locked and, where possible, secured off the road and behind a locked gate or roller door.
