There's plenty to look forward to, including grand finals in Port Lincoln and Tumby Bay, but before the weekend begins enjoy this week's rewind to the past with the Port Lincoln Times Flashback Friday.
This week we go back nearly 50 years to look at who featured in the pages of the Port Lincoln Times throughout September, 1973.
Who can you recognise in this week's gallery?
This weekend in Port Lincoln Marble Range and Wayback will contest the PLFL A grade grand final, these two teams have clashed many times in the grand final, including in 1973 with Wayback, who celebrated their 70th anniversary in the same year, victorious by 47 points.
In other grand final results, Richmond avenged their grand final loss to Carlton the previous year with a 30-point win in the 1973 VFL premiership while in the SANFL there was success for another group of Tigers as Glenelg, which included legendary players Graham Cornes and Peter Carey, defeated North Adelaide by seven points.
