You've met the owner of Hagen Zerk Automotive Repairs and Service, Hagen Zerk.

But now it's time to meet the rest of his team as they help him celebrate ten years in business.

Bernadette 'Bernie' Zerk

Hagen's wife Bernie has been with the business since the beginning. She is in charge of the bookkeeping, and keeps everything running behind the scenes.

"I knew I couldn't do this without her," Hagen said.

"I said from the start, if you can do the paperwork and books, I can fix the cars."

Bernie has experience running her own hairdressing salon and helped her family with the Cummins Takeaway & Deli years ago.

Max Frost

Max started at Hagen Zerk Automotive Repairs and Service nearly four years ago and will be fully qualified at the end of this year.

"He did work experience with us and we soon realised that he had the ability and passion to be a mechanic," Hagen said.

Max was also brought up around cars and machinery, working with his father after school and on weekends.

"I grew up working on cars with dad in the shed, mainly old school Fords," Max said.

"My interest in cars grew more when I became involved in four-wheel driving."

"I enjoy the variety of cars I get to work on at Hagen's, as we repair everything from classic cars to the bigger F trucks."

Ivo Satalic

Ivo started at the business just recently and has already proved himself to be a valuable employee.

"Ivo is fully qualified with a passion to be a great mechanic and work on that vehicle that may be a bit different," Hagen said.

"His father also is a mechanic and has helped Ivo along the way well before he started in this trade."

Ivo says he has always had a love for mechanics.

"From an early age, I was learning, from following my dad around his workshop working on vehicles of all sorts from racing to muscle cars, remote control vehicles to pulling apart and rebuilding anything I could find," Ivo said.

"In 2014 I completed a Certificate II in Automotive Servicing while still at school, which led to an apprenticeship with Q Mechanical."

"On completion of my apprenticeship in 2019, I used my skills to work on a vast range of machinery from light vehicles, plant equipment, small engines, heavy vehicles and light industrial."

"After six years with Q Mechanical, I decided I wanted a change and I am grateful that Hagen Zerk has given me the opportunity to bring my experience and knowledge to his team at Hagen Zerk Automotive."
