Last chance to vote for fishing council members

Last days to vote on recreational fishers council members

There are only a few days left for South Australians to cast their vote for vacancies on the Minister's Recreational Fishing Advisory Council.

There are 15 candidates vying for four places on the council, with including two candidates stepping up for the one position available for the South East region.

All South Australian recreational fishers are encouraged to get involved with the process of selecting the candidates.

Elected council members will be vital in shaping the future of recreational fishing in the state.

They will represent the interests of fishers and be asked to provide advice and feedback to the State Government in all matters that relate to recreational fishing.

Established in 2018, the council delivered the Recreational Fishing Strategy for South Australia 2021-2024 in July this year, with the focus on short and medium-term outcomes to increase stewardship, sustainability and security within the sector.

To be eligible to vote, a person should have a working mobile phone number and be a resident of South Australia.

Voting closes at 12pm this Friday, October 22, to vote visit and click on the link 'cast your vote'.
