Port Lincoln is once again getting into the spooky season with locals taking part in Halloween on Sunday, including a group of Tunarama Ambassador Quest entrants.
Miss Baldwin's Plumbing and Gas Karen Fiegert, Miss Southern Cross Austereo Kiah Wicks and Miss Matthew Flinders Home Rachel Vella are putting on a 'Haunted House Fright Night' at Brinkworth Reserve from 4.30pm.
Activities include games, trick or treat and face painting, a photo booth for families, a barbecue tea with donuts available and prizes will be available for children with the best costumes.
The event will raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Mentally Fit EP and Matthew Flinders Home.
Mrs Fiegert said she felt it was a fun family event as many locals were getting into Halloween in recent years.
"I thought it's be a great fundraiser as it's something the kids in Port Lincoln have been getting into for the last couple years," she said.
Ms Vella said separate events were planned but they had decided to work together on this Halloween event and they had been working well together as a team.
A number of businesses are also planning their own Halloween events including Ultimate Celebrations, Wendy's Port Lincoln and the Pier Hotel.
As families prepare for trick or treating this Sunday, SAPOL is providing a safety reminder for all taking part.
Police recommend children be accompanied by a trusted, responsible person, maintain social distance of 1.5m, adhere to road rules, be polite and to never enter a strangers house.
Residents are encouraged to put up signs informing whether they are taking part in Halloween festivities and to consider the use of kitchen tongs when dispersing treats.
Resources are available on the SAPOL website.
A list of houses is being provided on the Halloween Port Lincoln Facebook page to help highlight who is taking part this year.
Meanwhile at Ceduna, Centacare will be hosting a Halloween Trick or Treat Preparations Day on Friday at the Ceduna Youth Hub from 3.15pm to 5.30pm, with mask masking and costume decorating ahead of Halloween on Sunday.
There will also be a sausage sizzle, treats and prizes to be won.
