A forum on prostate cancer is on Friday, October 29 at the Grand Tasman Hotel Meeting Room, from 5 to 7pm with refreshments available and meals afterwards. Air Safety Seminar
Chance to raise safety issues
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority will host an aviation safety seminar at the Port Lincoln Flying Club on Friday, October 29 at 6.30pm as part of a new safety education campaign. The seminar is also a great chance for pilots to raise any local safety issues and ask questions about rules and regulations. Bookings are essential online.
Enjoy Open Garden weekend
Two open gardens, hosted through the SA Open Garden Scheme will be on Saturday, October 30 and Sunday, October 31 - Sojourn at 43 Happy Valley Road, Port Lincoln (pictured), and BostonVista at 125 Howard Avenue, Boston, from 10am to 4pm, supporting Royal Flying Doctor Service, EP Home Hospice, Riding for the Disabled, SACWA and Port Lincoln Table Tennis. Entry $8, and $6 for concession.
Dragons honour cancer fight
Dragons Abreast Port Lincoln is holding a Mini Field of Women on the foreshore lawns near the playground from 10 to 11.30am in tribute to people and their families affected by breast cancer. The community is invited to write personal messages to be displayed on pink lady silhouettes. In conjunction will be the Awakening of the Dragon and Dotting of the Eyes ceremonies.
Regiment honour Beersheba
The Third Australian Light Horse Regiment Lower Eyre Commemorative Troop will honour the anniversary of the 1917 charge at Beersheba and the 1918 fall of Damascus on Sunday, October 31, with a brief service at the Tumby Bay cenotaph at 4pm, followed by a sausage sizzle and drinks at the Tumby Bay RSL. COMBINED PROBUS MEETING SET
Port Lincoln Combined Probus Club meeting at Port Lincoln Bowling Club from 9.45am on Friday, November 5. Please note the deadline to buy tickets for the Christmas Luncheon is at the meeting. 'Come and Be Surprised'
The Charlton Women in Agriculture and Business meeting is on Tuesday, November 2 in the Senior Citizens Hall at 7.30pm. President and secretary have planned an interesting evening titled 'Come along and be surprised!' Visitors very welcome to join us at any of our meetings.
