Damage caused in Yallunda Flat header fire

Country Fire Service crews have responded to a header fire at Yallunda Flat on Thursday morning.

Crews were altered to the fire on Bratten Way at Yallunda Flat at 11.23am, after a header struck power lines.

Farm firefighting units were quickly on the scene, while five CFS crews also responded to the blaze, which has been extinguished.

There was about $100,000 in damage caused to the header, while five hectares of crop was also burned.

The header operator was unharmed in the incident.

It comes after firefighters battled two haystack fires last Friday, at Butler and Minnipa, while farming machinery was damaged following a crop fire at Verran last Wednesday.
