Port Lincoln Times Flashback Friday: Christmas through the years | GALLERY

Tomorrow is Christmas Day but before that why not take a look back at Christmas celebrations from years gone by with this week's Flashback Friday.

We are featuring Christmas themed photos that were taken throughout the month of December between the years of 1958 and 2020.

Who can you see amongst the photos of people getting involved in Christmas revelry in this week's gallery?

Here is some trivia to share around the Christmas table.

December 25 is when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, but December 25 was also the birthday of English physicist Isaac Newton, legendary actor Humphrey Bogart, singer Annie Lennox of Eurythmics fame and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

December 25 was also the day in 1066 when William the Conqueror was crowned King of England, in 1776 when George Washington cross the Delaware River in the American Revolutionary War and in 1991 when USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev resigned from his position, the next day the USSR was dissolved.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
