Some of us would want to escape the present at the moment so fear not, Flashback Friday is back again in 2022!

After starting the year with Julia Gillard as Prime Minister, Australia closed 2013 with Tony Abbott as its Prime Minister while in South Australia Jay Weatherill was Premier with Steven Marshall as opposition leader, having taken over from Isobel Redmond at the start of the year.

Some sad news for fans of Holden as the car manufacturer announced it would cease production of vehicles in Australia by 2017.

The top singles on the ARIA Charts for 2013 were 'Roar' by Katy Perry, 'Blurred Lines' by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell, 'Let Her Go' by Passenger, 'Wake Me Up' by Avicii and 'Royals' by Lorde.
