3 BED | 1 BATH | 2 CAR
Here is your chance to own your very own private wetland sanctuary.
Big Swamp Station is situated between Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln on approximately 474 hectares spread across four freehold titles.
The wetland has been recognised as one of Australian and international significance (RAMSAR).
Overlooking the wetland is a large 1900's Victorian Style Stone homestead with beautiful Baltic Pine floors and near 12ft ceilings with beautiful cornices. The property also has numerous sheds and an early settlers stone cottage ready to be transformed into holiday accommodation.
The property has a multitude of potential uses such as eco-tourism, viticulture, agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture. See the PlanSA portal for more info on tourism grant funding available or make your own enquiries with the District Council for Lower Eyre Peninsula.
This unique eco system is home to a variety of wildlife species - both common and rare, including raptors, water fowl and migratory waders.
The system's waters run through old red gum forests with tree hollows, the natural understory and the billabong providing breeding habitat for fresh water yabbies, turtles, frogs, native fish and one of the highest populations of invertebrates recorded on Eyre Peninsula.
Big swamp station has received two Enviro fund awards grants and is one of the higher rainfall areas on the Eyre Peninsula with rich, fertile soils from thousands of years of wetland water flows.
